Specialized Sirrus X Comp Carbon / 5.0 Accessories

Posted on 11th May 2020

Another quick phone video about accessories for my Sirrus X Comp Carbon / Sirrus X 5.0 / Sirrus X series - the most significant upgrade was a Redshift Shockstop seatpost, which makes you feel you are half way to riding a full suspension bike. I still enjoy riding this bike immensely and see no reason to upgrade or choose another style of bike for my fitness riding.

Here are some links to the accessories I mention...

1. DMR v12 Pedals
https://www.dmrbikes.com/Catalogue/Pedals/V12-2/V12

These pedals have been really good for my size 11's. The standard pedals that shipped with the bike were basic and a smaller footprint, so these were welcomed. They are fully serviceable  and have really good grip, which allows me to dig into hills as though I am wearing SPD's. Really good in both the urban environment and the countryside.

2. Redshift Shockstop Seat Post

The most killer update I made for the bike. Potholes, rough surfaces and countryside riding make a carbon fibre bike far from a smooth ride. This suspension seatpost fixes that problem entirely. With an adjustable suspension setting / double spring system, the post can be set to 'hover' or only to compact when the rider impacts a change in surface. I am going to make a full review on this remarkable addition.

3. UltimateAddons Phone Holder

I have been using this wonderful case for my iPhone XR and it has been exceptional for mapping my rides and referencing my location on longer unfamiliar routes. I think you need a high quality setup here, as you're putting a £500+ phone onto a moving vehicle in that sense. This is a solid solution.

4. BBB Cycling BSG-58 - I think the model is discontinued, but here's a link to the series...
