Weather and Clothing - The weather in coastal Scotland is always unpredictable, but during the winter months the light can be excellent any time of day. Expect rain, fog, even snow at this time of year, so it’s very important to pack your clothing for all conditions. Bring thermals and plenty of breathable layers to keep you warm.

Footwear – ensure you have a broken in pair of walking boots, with plasters should you need them. Ensure you also have an extra pair of shoes to change into when you reach the car, as well as a pair of Wellington boots for coastal work. Bring plenty of socks and a few pairs of boot socks.

Eating – we will make decisions on when and where to eat our main meal as the situations present themselves. Rather than restrict our photography with a set format, we stay flexible. Breakfast and a packed lunch is supplied, but you might want to bring a box of cereal bars too.

Fitness - Some of the locations will take a while to reach so be prepared for some lengthy walking and steep climbs, especially to the Old man of Storr where walking to the best vantage points can be strenuous. These walks will often give superb shooting opportunities along the way, some of them circular, with some utterly breath taking views along route.
